A recent Galaxy poll showed that 80% of Australians are concerned about these issues and want a carbon trading scheme in place by 2010. People also expect business to demonstrate public accountability for their contribution to climate change, something that will be reinforced by government policy in the near future that will set targets for carbon emissions.
However, business leaders and certainly most small business owners are still in the dark about climate change and have little idea how to reduce their carbon footprint or what a carbon footprint is.
In fact, many Australians don’t fully understand what an Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) is or how it operates and what it’s going to do. This was evidenced when the Prime Minister was asked for a brief explanation recently and after two minutes of talking; he was still struggling to explain it. That's why we decided that our web site should be a valuable resource for our readers providing information about the whole topic of sustainability, climate change and ancillary topics such as an ETS as well as the solutions that we offer. We hope you find the information here interesting if not challenging. Our aim is to provide a place for people to discuss the issues so you can weigh up the arguments and make up your own mind. View the videos and leave your comments, join the forums, add comments to the blogs and write articles, your views are welcome. There is no issue that will have such a long term effect on our lives as climate change even if you don't believe it is an issue. But whether you believe it is a problem or not, some of the solutions that you will find here can only benefit your business by saving you money.

Climate change, carbon dioxide pollution, Emission Trading Schemes and energy reduction are now topics that are on almost every Australian’s mind, up from practically zero only a few years ago.
